What to do if you find a dead badger
Running since 2014, the Wales Badger Found Dead project relies on reports from members of the public to inform the collection of animal carcasses, which are then tested post mortem. The results have been used to investigate the relationship between bovine TB infection in badgers and cattle, and have increased knowledge of Mycobacterium bovis (M. bovis) infection in badgers.
Run by the Wales Veterinary Science Centre, the survey provides valuable information on the nature of bovine TB within the badger population across Wales, and they're still calling on people to report any dead badgers they have found.
If you find a dead badger, you can report it to the Wales Badger Found Dead project via the dedicated phone line: tel: 0808 1695110. You'll need to supply a grid reference or what3words location, in order for the animal to be collected. For further details, visit www.bfd.wales
