Bird Group Outing to RSPB Burton Mere Wetland
About the event
For the first of several avian-themed outings during spring and summer 2025, MWT Bird Group are visiting RSPB Burton Mere Wetlands on the Dee Estuary.
A heated visitor centre with picture windows offers panoramic views over the nature reserve's wet grasslands and pools. With a mosaic of habitats, from a Sand Martin bank to reedbeds, woods and freshwater pools, you can see all sorts of birds, such as Water Rail, Sand Martin, Grey Heron, egrets and numerous birds of prey, such as Marsh Harrier (pictured).
Transport will be by car-share, meeting at MWT's Llan Coed y Dinas Nature Reserve at 8.30am the morning of the event. Passengers pay driver £10 on the day. If you are an RSPB member, please bring RSPB membership cards; non-members £5-£7 depending on which reserve.
Numbers are limited to 12 so booking is essential. To book a place, or for further information about the event email Simon Boyes at montbird@gmail.com or text or WhatsApp message him on: 07708 328987.
