Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust Bird Group

If you're interested in birds then why not come along to the next Montgomeryshire Bird Group meeting or summer outing? The Group meets on the third Wednesday of each month from September until March, usually at Welshpool Methodist Hall at 7.30pm. A wide range of speakers are invited to talk on all things ornithological, from local to global perspectives, of interest to beginners and accomplished birdwatchers alike.

Everyone is welcome, and the entrance fee of £3 includes the talk (free for under 18s), light refreshments, and the opportunity to chat with like-minded folk and the speakers themselves.  We usually have a raffle, so please bring a prize if you are able to (£1 per ticket).

However, during spring and summer the group takes advantage of the longer, lighter days and organises bird-themed outings (see below):

Spring/summer 2025 outings

Thursday 10th April, Visit to RSPB Burton Mere

Wednesday, 18th June, Visit to RSPB Ynys Hir

Monday 15th September, Visit to RSPB Conwy

All the above events will be by car share, meeting at Llyn Coed-y-Dinas Nature Reserve at 8.30am. Passengers pay driver £10 on the day. Members please bring RSPB membership cards; non-members £5-£7 depending on which reserve. To book a place, contact Simon Boyes using the contact details below. Numbers will be limited to 12.
