Montgomeryshire Wildlife Shop laid out with nature-inspired gifts and books

Welshpool Shop and Office

The Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust office is located on the High Street in Welshpool and provides a base for the Trust’s operations as well as an advice hub where visitors can learn more about their local wildlife.

On the ground floor the Trust operates a shop, filled with everything you need to support and encourage the wildlife in your garden including bird and bat boxes, feeders, seed and insect homes. A range of books and ID guides, meanwhile, are available to help with your nature spotting!

The shop's a great place to find unique, wildlife-inspired gifts, beautiful cards, cuddly toys and presents for the little ones. There's also a lovely selection of handmade wooden items created by our Wild Skills, Wild Spaces project social enterprise groups.

All profits made by the shop go to support our vital conservation and outreach work around the county.

Our Nature Table has a fascinating seasonal display of items found by the staff team. Highlights include fungi, abandoned bird nests, skulls, wasp nests and snake-skins.

The shop area also has displays and information about the Trust’s work and how to get involved. Our wonderful volunteers and staff are on hand to provide advice and  species identifications and to inspire our visitors to engage with the amazing wildlife Montgomeryshire has to offer!

Shop and Office Opening Times

The shop is open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 10am to 1.30pm.

However, it's also open during some seasonal periods and for special events – check our social media channels to find out the latest opening dates and times.

Want to get involved?

Do you enjoy meeting people? Do you have a passion for wildlife? If you’re looking for a volunteering opportunity, then why not become a MWT Shop Volunteer! Currently, we're only able to open for limited hours each week, but would love to have the shop and office open more often. We need volunteers to help us do this so if you'd like to find out more, please contact Sandy at sandy@montwt.co.uk
